"Nothing is original.
Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination.
Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul.
If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery — celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said:
“It’s not where you take things from — it’s where you take them to.”- Jim Jarmusch

Photographer Laurie Lambrecht was Roy Lichtenstein’s part-time assistant from 1990 to 1992, hired specifically to help the artist inventory artwork in preparation for his retrospective exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, held in 1993. Encouraged by Lichtenstein, she began taking photographs in his studio as they worked together. The two artists grew close over this period of time as Lambrecht’s photographic project became a collaborative one.
Lambrecht’s vivid color images in the series “From the Studio of Roy Lichtenstein” give us a rare glimpse into the working studio of one of the twentieth-century’s most iconic artists. She reveals Lichtenstein’s objects of inspiration and creation: colored pencils, newspaper clippings, lists of onomatopoeias (including “whump” and “pow”), ladders, levels, and of course scores of his signature Ben-Day dots. And, perhaps most delightfully, we find the artist himself in Lambrecht’s work, seemingly poised in his own compositions, actually atop a ladder making final touches to his paintings.
Lambrecht describes her experience this way: “With my camera I observed what Roy saw . . . the newspaper ad of the ‘Beach Ball Girl,’ for instance. I let his signature graphic components–the stripes, dots and bands of solid colors–suggest the compositions. The texture of Roy’s paintings in all states of completion, the presence of Roy, my awareness of his stature in our cultural history–all this inspired me.”
Laurie Lambrecht’s work has been exhibited around the world, including solo exhibitions at the Lishui Photo Festival in China; galleries in London, Los Angeles and New York; and the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA. Her work has been included in group shows at the Houston Center for Photography; the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, NY; and the Society of Photographers, Johannesburg, South Africa. Lambrecht’s work is included in the collections of the Parrish Art Museum; the Guild Hall Museum, East Hampton, NY; the Sysco Collection; and NYU Medical Center.

I'm eccentric. I have my head stuck in the clouds. I refuse to conform to what society feels I should. I'm stubborn, care too little about opinions and too much about my passions.
I didn't finish school..I stopped to travel, learn thru experience, and share art. I went to Florida for a year on a seeking journey and learned a great deal of trades and about myself. Now I'm back and found something that can combine all the things I love into one and help launch me and many of my peers into a professional world.
I'm currently writing my 1st novel and travelling across the country meeting artists and young business-minded people like myself to help mold the future before we're all lost in these empty trends. -Supa

There are certain times in life when someone or something tries to get in the way of what you want to do. There is no room for Plan B. Stick to what you want to do and if someone gets in your way say "Fuck No" and keep going for what makes you say Yes.

When did you want to do this?

"when I first started taking pictures it wasn't a big deal to me and when I look back on my first picture it really didn't make me feel way.

Herds of The Fathers is a lifestyle brand that is eager to provide every accessory needed to keep up with the ever-changing gentleman.
Style: My style is very laid back. Bury me in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt when's it's my time to go. Don't get me wrong, I can definitely switch it up whenever I have to, but effortless appeal is always the goal. Confidence speaks volumes. I think nowadays people are forgetting that style should always be about comfort and function, first and foremost. I will never sacrifice those things just to obtain a certain "look". If I don't feel right in it, I'm not wearing it. The products that our company provides are a perfect compliment to what I do as far as style goes. Accessories play a big part in bringing my simple outfits to another level. I just live my life and have as much fun as possible....the goal is to package that and present it to the world in the form of a brand.

Style: Defining my style is a difficult task because its hard to pin point and give it one label. Personal style is not something that needs to be confined and shaped in a box. My style changes and evolves on a day to day basis. The most I could say about my style is that I dress how I feel. I buy what I know makes me feel like myself. Somedays I could go for the professional look, the workman, the carefree, or the minimalist look. I use the clothes I wear as props, props that project lifestyle, feelings, and values. Style should be specific to the individual. Each day, I make sure I am not a duplicate of another individual or brand. Imitation when it comes to style is not flattering, its quite the opposite. Some individuals have the ability to make anything stylish because they have confidence, aura, and presense. Style without these things is a waste. "Fashions fade...style is eternal" YSL.
Poetry by Supa
For all my lighters, writers, and all-nighters..dedicated to this flow, and the currents that fight us
If it wasn’t for those fire wouldn’t ignite us, but I still go hard in spite of.
For yall this is a night of Poetry.
For the molten unspoken mind, awake this earthquake with the faults in my lines
Experience the thought as it chills through your spine,
Find the heat of where the passionate meet intertwined
It’s time for Poetry
Addin adlibs for the advits and havin automatics for the sporatics..
And If these PAPERless picture painted on a HARD place cant make the cut,
then I’ll take my chances with the Scissors to prevent from tearin up
Glances at rear visions places fear in us..that we’ll keep lookin
Or even worse..that we won’t, thats as deep as the last couple breaths that I took in
How do I begin..to give you Poetry
If the creator stopped on every writer’s block to wait to be inspired
Then a pause after every thought would be all that was required…
I would rather be nameless than aimless..
What is in a force, with no direction..a disaster with more remorse than discretion
So to remain sane I must maintain the current course as I regret one
I will never be done..with Poetry
Even when im as cold as the snow and soaked with dry rain.
It is my place to stand and face every rhymic bang, of the methaphoric gun behind my verbal exchange
As I purge the untamed..It will forever surge thru my veins..not even these words explain..

THE ETERNAL CITY
The city of Rome, or Roma, has been thriving for nearly 2,500 years. With every step you take and glance you catch, anyone can tell that the history of Rome lives within the people and places that make Italy's capital magnificent. A meager two days of living in the Eternal City and already, I have compeletely justified my decision to study abroad here. I could not have imagined it any better than it already is. With that being said, I still have four months of vagabonding, legal drinking, and site-seeing to look forward to. I know that my posts will be eagerly awaited, but remember, I have "studying" to do.

PS. This isn't my photo, but there will be many to come.
Angela - my boyfriend tells me that I need to lose some weight. His last girlfriend was really petite, but I am taller and am around a size 14. I have tried to diet but it leaves me feeling mistable and I personally am happy with the way that I look, I adore my curves but am scared that I will lose him if I am not the one he is really looking for. Do I just take a stand on this one, or meet him in the middle and drop a dress size?
Natalie, Cambridge, UK
Right, okay, this one ruffled my feathers a little!
You answer your own question to be honest Natalie... you tell me that you are HAPPY WITH THE WAY THAT YOU LOOK, and you suggest taking a stand on this one, therefore knowing that there is the option of taking a stand, which tells me that you know that this issue is something that you oppose...
I appreciate that when we really do not want to lose a guy, we consider all manner of things, that is just what we do as humans, because we have been trained to believe that when we love somebody we will do 'anything' to make them happy
But I really feel strongly on this one, that if you go down that road when YOUR heart is not in it, you will end up resenting your guy anyway, and won't truly be happy. Something as personal as weight loss has to be YOUR choice and diets do not work anyway, if someone has one foot in and one foot out, they take 100% determination - and do you have that? Should you have that? Hell no!
You like yourself just the way that you are, and most guys would kill for a girl who is so confident in who she is. If your guy can only see you as a weight issue and not the diamond that sparkles before him, then he needs to move on and go back to this petite ex, or find another suitable model.
Be proud of who you are, listen to your Inner Goddess and if he cannot love you for who you are (and are happy to be) then he is not worthy of you
