Cool Business Card Design

Great Business Card Design

To help a local yoga practitioner reposition herself, ahem, in a crowded market, graphic designer Kapil Bhimekar created this clever Twist Card that functions as a sort of interactive business card. Neat. (via sweet station)

It's time for people to step their game up...in the business card world. I think business cards overall are sort of lame...but this is great! Even though the pics remind me of a pregancy test guide. lol

Posted | Views: 21,229

People ask me all the time what's the difference between Ownzee (which I co-created) and other blogging platform sites out there. So, to not mix up the bullshit I decided to give a pretty clear example.

This is you using Ownzee.

This is you using the other blog sites.

Kiki Valdes with PALO! Recap

Posted | Views: 20,108

Kiki Valdes/Palo! at S.O.B.'s Recap:

It was a great time getting to paint to the sounds of the band PALO!. When I got word that my friends were gonna be in NYC from Miami playing at the legenary S.O.B.'s I couldn't resist and get involved somehow. I've done about 4 or 5 shows with PALO! since 2002. So, when we get together it is a great treat and a rare and special event.

PALO! overall has matured so much as a unit. I was blown away by everyone in the band and how they come together and make true music come alive. I am thankful that the painting I did that night sold within the first 20 minutes that I started painting.

Check out the video, it was actually shot with iphone footage. Not bad. Thank you to all my good friends that came out. You know who you are. I love you.

Star Wars Cupcakes

Whoa, these are pretty cool. I'm not sure if I'm such a geek that I would actually want these...but for my son, hell yeah. Although, we don't need a Jabba the Hut cupcake...my mother in law can fill that void.

Rhino Chair, Octopus Chair - Maximo Riera

Posted | Views: 19,435

created by spanish designer maximo riera, the 'rhino chair' is a continuation of his work which marries furniture with an animal as its main formal component. like its predecessor the 'octopus chair', the 'rhino chair' is composed of an inner frame along its main body in order to support its weight and reinforce its stability and balance.

Animal Chairs

this time around, riera has selected the rhino as his muse to reflect nature's capacity and mightiness. at the beginning stages of the project, when the chair was just an idea, riera was aware that a main hurdle of designing the piece would be maintaining the proper proportions for the seating object. this sculptural 'throne' is built in a superior scale to generate an authoritative force respecting qualities present
in the animal itself.

but wait...check out the Octopus Chair! Sick!

Idolizing Industrial

"We work with what we got." Wise words from local Omaha, Nebraska skater Heath Hoefener. Most of the Omaha sake scene is based around random spots spread around town. Others like Heoffner say that most of the skate parks around, such as; Seamore Skate Park, Vinny's Skate Park and Elkhorn Skate Park, are all too boring. Hoefener says, "It is all about the random spots that makes a good skater. Just take a look around and you will find that the world is just one huge skate park."

You may ask yourself, "Where are these so called local skate spots located?" The truth is they can be found in your own backyard. According to most skateboarders it takes a keen and creative eye to locate these spots, but if you get on a board and ride around it should not be that hard.

Local skater Shane Manchester from Omaha, Nebraska says is favorite industrial skate spot was called the Safe Spot, Skate Spot. "It was an old abandoned warehouse that many skateboarders turned into a skate park. They built ramps, rails, manual boxes and even a quarter pipe. It was like heaven on earth." Manchester says. Now we do not condone the action of trustpassing or vandalization, but sometimes the best spots are found in your head. Hoefener and Manchester both agree that imagination is the key to find sucessful skate spots around town. Hoefener quotes, "Sometimes it takes a little elbow grease to make imagination a creation."

Back to square one (the streets)

"It's all about the street!" says Jake Vest. Vest views skating in the streets, rather than in the skate park, handsdown is the best experience any skateboarder will have. "There are way more things to do skating the skaing the parks." Vest says.

Sure there are more risks skating the streets, rather then the parks, such as; heavy traffic, pedestrians and of course the police officers who potrol the streets. "Even though the cops out there go out of there way just to stop skaters from skating on private property there is no possible way i could ever choose skate parks over the streets."

VENTURE EYEWEAR

OPEN YOUR EYES TO HIGH DEFINITION

VENTURE unique Three-Point Fit holds the lenses in precise optical alignment. Our frame materials balance durability and comfort with impact absorption for athletic competition, and our frame geometries maximize your peripheral vision.

  • Optical alignment for sharp, accurate vision
  • Impact absorption for improved safety
  • Geometries that extend peripheral view

Every Eyewear we design are sue matching your expectation.

FIVE RULES DEFINE OUR PHILOSOPHY OF DESIGN:

  1. Redefine products by redefining what is physically possible.
Nothing is impossible — we know that from experience. But new ideas demand new technology, and some are insistent. CAD/CAM engineering lets us experiment and explore.
  2. Reject conventional ideas, and when necessary, reinvent from scratch.
That means sending out hunter-gatherers to roam the world for inspirations, and locking ourselves in a design bunker until even the raw materials get the science treatment.
  3. Erase the line between form and function by elevating physics to the level of art.
We think they should fuel each other until they reach a critical mass called innovation.
  4. Transcend performance innovations into solutions for everyday applications.
By serving the demands of professional athletes, we create innovations that serve all.
  5. Deliver the unexpected.
That’s what invention is all about. Science and art come together, producing a new formula of performance and style. And, the occasional nasty explosion.

Andy Warhol talks Social Media

"I'm the type who'd be happy not going anywhere as long as I was sure I knew exactly what was happening at the places I wasn't going to. I'm the type who'd like to sit home and watch every party that I'm invited to on a monitor in my bedroom."

Warhol talks about

Facebook before it existed.

This Andy Warhol quote is amazing. He pretty much wanted social media before it even existed. He would be posting his pictures from last night and sharing it with his social network right now if he lived today.

Rick Perry's Devil Ring

The Devils

Ring.

Does Rick Perry follow the call of a higher power or satanic dark power?

The other day I noticed something different about presidential hopeful Rick Perry. There was something different from him, where I haven't seen in other political types. He sports a huge gold ring. I know it caught your attention too. With further research we discovered it's a ring belonging to an old occult rite with Egyptian origins. If you watch his speeches closely he comments to himself, like “Yes Sir,” often when people applaud. Is Mr. Perry taking orders from another power?

A great first experience

Name: Iman Haji

My first experience with the product was just amazing. First of all the scent of the product is just so inviting, with a delicious strawberry smell. Then comes the best part. The texture. The intimate shaving cream's texture is incredible. It's very light in contrary to other shaving creams where the foam is so thick that once you apply it on your skin, you have the sensation of shaving the foam instead of the hair. With BYB intimate shaving cream, even a little amount of the shaving cream goes a long way on your skin.

While shaving, we feel the blade slides easily on the skin. As for the end results, I was astonished. After BYB, my skin felt unbelievably smooth and silky. Although, Below Your Belt is a shaving cream designed for intimate use, you can definitely used it on any part of your body. The BYB intimate shaving cream, also comes with an after shave that smells as wonderful as the shaving cream. The after shave will revive your skin and enhances all the wonderful feelings you experienced while shaving.

I would say that your shower is not complete without the BYB products. The experience is both fun and addictive, and it makes you look forward to shaving. I would definitely recommend it to every woman.
