My "Me" Retreat

My "ME" Retreat

It makes me excited just thinking about it. If it is one thing I have learned the past year and a half is that no one else really cares about how overwhelmed you are, especially if you don't care about it yourself. People will push you and push you and think because they are still moving so should you. I am the glue that keeps everything together with school, kids, transitioning into my own business and it is not an easy job. It seems that the days are not long enough and to be honest with you, it seems like day by day the days get shorter and shorter. It is true time waits for no one.

While doing some business planning I quickly had an epiphany. I am planning retreats for women and I thought why not plan a retreat for myself? The only one who will be in attendance will be me. If I can plan a retreat for women and assist in giving them a PEACE of mind and aid them into a life of harmony and taking care of them, then I should practice what I preach and start with a renewed mind and allow my body to go into"BREAK" mode so to speak. It is something that is much needed at this point.

I think it is so important to take quality time out for yourself. I am so used to giving and doing that sometimes I go neglected in the interim. How can I help others if my mind is not clear? I have to be able to think with a clear mind, there is no need to speak out of the mess that has been piling up on me for a while. My client's would not appreciate that. So for the past couple of months I have been scoping out places to go into relaxation mode. I have thought about flying to Sedona, Az it has been quoted as one of the most serene places to be. The school is having a conference in California, it would be a great time to network with other Health Coaches. I decided on neither of the two. I know I want to be around water and stay beach front. So after careful consideration I made a decision

.................I am going to the coast of NC...I am going to CAROLINA BEACH... No one else, this retreat is going to be so awesome. I don't have to answer my phone and I don't have to listen at others tell me what they need for me to do. It will be a weekend just for me. If I want to lie in bed all day I will, get in my car and go sight seeing I will, take a long reflective walk on the beach, I will. I am so excited to just get away to clear my mind. I will be at my own beck and call. It will be a time for much reflection on my life and all that has happened, all that is happening and all that will happen. I know this train is about to take a shift in it's route and there won't be any slowing down. I am soooo ready...

Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive....

What Gives Mothman?

Did you know the

legend of the

MOTH

MAN?

The state of West Virginia has played home to one of the most bizarre "pseudo-cryptids" ever reported, the unusual - but by no means, unique - Mothman.

The first sighting came in the early 1960s. A woman was driving along Route 2, near the Ohio River, with her father. As she neared the Chief Cornstalk Hunting Grounds, a large man-shaped figure walked out onto the road. As the woman slowed her car, the figure spread two large wings and took off. Ironically, the witness did not report the incident - "Who would believe us, anyway?"

The first sighting which received publicity, though, was one in 1965. A woman living near the Ohio River related how her son had told her one day of seeing "an angel" outside. She thought nothing more of it until about a year later.

In the summer of 1966, a doctor's wife in the same general area said that she had seen a six-foot long thing resembling a "giant butterfly". On November 12, five gravediggers (how appropriate a profession!) saw something which looked like a "brown human being" fly out of the trees near Clendenin. One of the witnesses, Kenneth Duncan, said that they watched the creature for almost a minute.

As you can see from the sighting sketches...it looks like a giant...ah...moth.

It looks like some of the crap people came up with in art class. It's like a big foot with no head!

I've been hearing a lot lately about the Mothman. I came across the movie with Richard Gere which I almost fell asleep to. Then...I saw a clip of a documentray about all the weird crap that happened in West Virginia. I fell asleep watching that too. So, I figured making a post about it will keep me awake!!

Here is the movie poster for the really scary movie with Richard Gere. With Richard Gere in anything, it has to be scary!

On the 14th of the month, Salem resident Newell Partridge saw two red objects hovering above a field. His German Shepherd, Bandit, took off into the field and was never seen by Partridge again.

The next night, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Scarberry and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mallette were driving near the "TNT Area", near the town of Point Pleasant. A tall figure stood by the side of the road. "It was shaped like a man, but bigger," said Mr. Scarberry. "Maybe six and a half or seven feet tall. And it had big wings folded against its back." His wife commented on its huge red eyes, "like automobile reflectors."

Mr. Scarberry, who was driving, took off in his car at "better than a hundred miles per hour," the figure spread its wings and flew after the car. It didn't seem to flap its wings at all, and its wingspan was over ten feet. Mrs. Mallette said that it made a squeaking sound, "like a big mouse." The four also noted that a dead dog had been lying by the side of the road, but was gone when they returned.

They went to the offices of the Mason County sheriff and reported their sighting. Deputy Millard Halstead returned to the TNT Area with the four, and said that as he passed the spot where they had initially seen the figure, his police radio made a sound similar to a speeded-up record.

The TNT Area, which seemed to be a sort of home for the "Mothman," as it was quickly dubbed by the press, is a large tract of land. Small concrete "igloos" dot the landscape, used during World War II to store ammunition. The TNT Area is adjacent to the 2,500 acre McClintic Wildlife Station. The entire area is covered with dense forest, steep hills, and riddled with tunnels.

The area is also sparsely populated. One of the families living in the area is that of Ralph Thomas. On the 16th, at about 9:00 pm, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wamsley, Mrs. Marcella Bennett, and Mrs. Bennett's daughter, Tina, were visiting the Thomases. On the way there, they watched a red light which circled the TNT Area. When the car pulled up in front of the Thomas', it disturbed something.

It seemed as if it had been lying down. It rose up slowly from the ground. A big gray thing. Bigger than a man, with terrible glowing red eyes.

The witnesses ran to the Thomas home, where they were let in by the three children. The figure shuffled along behind them, coming onto the porch and looking through the window. Mr. Wamsley called the police, but the thing had, of course, vanished by the time they arrived. Mrs. Bennett, who lives at the edge of Point Pleasant, says she has heard the creature on other occasions. She describes the sound it makes as "like a woman screaming."

Paul Yoder and Ben Enochs, two firemen, said they had seen Mothman in the TNT Area on the 18th. Richard West, of Charleston, called the police on November 21. A winged figure was sitting on the roof of his neighbor's house, he said. The six-foot tall figure had a wingspan of six or eight feet and red eyes. It took off straight up, "like a helicopter."

Tom Ury was driving along Route 62, near the TNT Area, on the morning of November 25. He saw a large, grayish figure standing in a field. Then it spread two large wings, lifted straight into the air, and flew over Ury's car at an altitude "three telephone poles high"--probably about 50 or 60 feet. The next day, Mrs. Ruth Foster of St. Albans said the creature was standing in her yard near her porch. Her description tallys with West's. The same day, people in Lowell, Ohio, saw several large birds flying over Cat's Creek. The three witnesses followed the birds in their car and said that they were "...dark brown with some light flecks. Their breasts were gray and they had five- or six-inch bills, straight, not curved like those of hawks or vultures." The birds seemed to have reddish heads.

And still more sightings came. On November 27, on the way home from church, Connie Carpenter saw a grayish figure standing on the golf course near Mason. The creature took off and flew straight towards her car. She was one of few who actually saw the creature's face, although her description--"It was horrible"--doesn't help much. Another sighting took place that same night in St. Albans, where two girls saw the creature near a junkyard. The creature flew after them.

On December 4, five pilots at the Gallipolis, Ohio, airport saw some sort of giant bird flying at about 70 miles per hour. Its wings weren't moving, and unlike other witnesses they commented on a long neck.

Mabel McDaniel (coincidentally, mother of Linda Scarberry, one of the first witnesses) saw Mothman on January 11, 1967. Mrs. McDaniel said that at first the creature looked like "an airplane, then I realized it was flying much too low. It was brown and had a wingspread of at least ten feet." In March, an Ohio man claimed his car was chased by a flying creature.

The last sighting seems to have come on November 2, shortly after noon. Mrs. Ralph Thomas (from Bennett's sighting) heard a "squeaky fan belt" outside her home and saw a "tall gray figure" moving among the concrete domes in the TNT Area.

Scattered sightings continued for several years afterwards. In 1968, especially, a number of hairy humanoids with glowing eyes were seen on Jerrico Road. And on September 18, people in the TNT Area supposedly saw Mothman once more--putting in his last appearance, it seems.

In late 1966, when the Mothman reports started to die down, other phenomena started up in the area. Several UFOs were seen near Point Pleasant, animals were mutilated in surrounding areas, and Mothman witnesses reported poltergeist and "men in black" phenomena. This has led many a researcher to speculate on a connection between Mothman and UFOs.

But no discussion of the Mothman phenomenon would be complete without recounting the story of the Silver Bridge. On the evening of December 15, 1967, the Silver Bridge, which crossed the Ohio River at Point Pleasant, collapsed in rush-hour traffic. Over forty-six cars fell into the river. It was the biggest disaster ever to hit Point Pleasant.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before people began to connect this disaster with the Mothman sightings. Was Mothman some sort of warning sign of the impending disaster? Was the entire saga somehow connected with the UFOs seen in the area?

As a final postscript, New Haven farmer Ernest Adkins reported something very odd indeed in April of 1969. He found his eleven-week-old beagle lying dead in his front yard. "There was no evidence the dog died in a fight," Adkins said. What made it strange was the fact that the dog's chest was chewed open, and its heart was lying outside.

Not surprisingly, most scientists scoffed at this theory. They said it was probably just some normal kind of bird; the favored culprit was a sandhill crane. These large birds have reddish patches on their heads (accounting for Mothman's "red eyes") and a large specimen would reach roughly the size attributed to Mothman. But other birds were found in the area that could account for the sightings. In July of 1967, several boys found a large vulture near New Haven. And at Gallipolis Ferry, a farmer shot a rare bird indeed--an Arctic snow owl. The owl was two feet tall and had a five-foot wingspan.

Shepard Fairey + Kenny Scharf to appear in THE SIMPSONS

Wow, not sure what it means to be on The Simpsons as a cameo but I imagine it's got to be pretty fuckin' cool! The seminal Matt Groening animated sitcom celebrated its landmark 500th episode last night. In the wake of this news, the Hollywood Reporter learns that some famous graffiti artists – some of whom we’ve covered in these pages – will be joining the cast for the March 4 episode.

The episode is called “Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart,” an obvious homage to Banksy’s Oscar-nominated film from 2010 (Exit Through the Gift Shop), and focuses on Bart’s newfound fascination with street art. Shepard Fairey, Kenny Scharf, Ron English, and Robbie Conal all cameo as the crew who busts Bart and Milhouse in the act of vandalism.

In order to get back at his dad, Bart goes undercover as a graffiti street artist and plasters Homer’s unflattering image all over Springfield. But one night, Bart and Milhouse get caught in the act by established street artists Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Kenny Scharf and Robbie Conal (guest voicing as themselves), and to Bart’s surprise, they invite him to exhibit his satirical artwork in his very own gallery show.

Shepard Fairey wrote the following on his website:

The Simpsons has been one of my favorite shows since the early 90′s. When I was running my screen printing studio in Providence R.I. my crew and I lead a Spartan existence consisting of long hours and a seven day work week. Our only recreational indulgence ritual was to stop work early Sunday evenings to eat dinner together while watching the Simpsons. I’ve always loved the Simpsons blend of humor and social commentary, so it is a huge honor for me to appear as a guest character on the March 4th episode.

Brazilian born sculptor Fernando Carpandeda, based in NYC, is one of the first Brazilian visual artists to divulge and exhibit systematically homoerotic works. What amazed me is that each man has own its charactor with highly detailed work (make-up, hair, tattoo, outfits...etc)  from a mixture of gay art with the punk movement and street culture he discribes as underground scene, which are somehow attractive subject to me.  His miniature men are photogenic in all angles to look from. Fernando is a talented artist who is not afraid of challenging the boundaries of artistic practice and confronting viewers with the issues of stigma and division in modern society. source

Jesus.......J-e-s-u-s R-o-j-a-s?

ja ja ja ha ha ha he he he

Todo el salon se empezo a burlar de mi, incluso recuerdo unos companeritos que se acercaron y me pellizcaron, eres el jesus de verdad?

ja ja ja ha ha ha he he he

ABB,

Jesusjay

MY FIRST POST

Who is JesusJay?

Posted | Views: 2,547

JesusJay, is my artistic name. I'm a Venezuelan-American citizen living in the U.S. since 1995.

I was born at 3:30 am in Caracas, on the 12th day of the Gregorian Calendar year, on the same birthday as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Swami Vivekananda but my year was one thousand nine hundred and sixty six.

Some people panic when I tell them that my number is 66, they go "Uh, 66 like 666?

And I say to them, yes it's the devil portraying Jesus.

To be born on the same day of my beloved masters, is indeed a Blessed Cosmic Coincidence.

Six plus six is 12, and 12 months, 12 disciples,

I was born on January 12th, 1966.

Why the name JesusJay?

Well, it's a pretty funny story. I created that name when I came back to the U.S. for the second time in 1995.

The name Jesus in Spanish is a common name as Joseph or John.  In the U.S. Jesus is synonymous with Christ.

I was only 13 the first time I  was bullied.  I was in seven grade in Middle School in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

One day, our Science teacher, a big black lady with a tough face was calling the list and when she got to my name she went like "Jesus, J-e-s-u-s Rojas?

LOL he he he

I remember feeling my face burning "red" of embarrassment. From that moment on I had issues with that name.

So if you are American and don't want to call me Jesus, then call me Jay and if you are Hispanic or Latino and don't want to call me Jay, then call me Jesus.

If you like both, then call me

JesusJay

KIDULT video 'ILLEGALWORLD"

I've been trying to avoid the KIDULT topic, because he is already very famous from super-tagging some of the most famous label shop windows around the globe, and instantly getting the video on the web. And on top of that, I have a tendency to avoid giving more attention to the obvious attention seeker in general, but what about him? Do I love it or hate it? my answer is "I don't know".  But I've been noticing that as an ex- fashion designer, I no longer have any urge to consume products from those fashion brand empires, like the stores that were attacked by KIDULT ( see below). I'd rather consume products made locally to me in the USA: and support small production runs with an eco-conscious strategy and cruelty free. Some people think that Capitalism faces collapse on a global scale and I'm not so sure about that.  But what's obvious to me is that it doesn't work as we once hoped in 80's.

KIDULT reminds us what direct action graffiti is about : protest and expressing yourself in a creative way, even if for most people its vandalism…

The CheckList For Getting Things Done!

Posted | Views: 2,369

The reality is that if you are not getting things done, you won’t make any money. Here are some tips on how to organize now and use your time and other resources more effectively:

1. Don’t drown yourself in the details. Trying to do to much in to little time is very discouraging.  Space things out.

2. Organize your workspace. You’ll spend less time looking for what you need.

3. Make sure the space both look and feel good. You’ll work better when the surroundings are pleasant.

4. Always check to make sure you have what you need before you start. It will save a lot of time later.

5. Make sure friends and family do not to disturb you during this course of time. This is especially important if you work at home.

-2-

6. End all distractions as soon as possible. That means no telephone or television in the background.

7. Eat right. You’ll be sharper if you get the nutrients you need each day.

8. Have a plan for each day. Write out the 10 most important things you have to do, and put them in the order of their importance.  Do this the night before.

9. Take a 10 min break every  two hours and don't skip lunch. You need the breaks to keep your strength up in the afternoon.

10. Finish your day on time. Working into the night will make tomorrow that much harder.

11. Get plenty of rest. Along with nutrition, this is the best thing you can do to keep yourself alert and productive.

12. Promise yourself everyday that you will finish what you start if its humanly possible.

13. Make every effort to work your plan daily.

-3-

14. Make a list for everything. Lists are easy to make, and they can help you see where you are going.

15. Put each list in step-by-step order. What has to be done first and what can wait until later?

16. Be real! You can’t do everything in one day.

17. Know when you are tired, and know when you are most alert. If you are more alert in the afternoon, schedule most of your work then. If your energy is even throughout the day, then set everything up accordingly.

18. Do the easy stuff first. Completing several action steps will motivate you to keep moving.

19. Combine the small stuff. It is okay to check emails while you make phone calls.

20. Forget multi-tasking with the big stuff. Focus on one thing and get it done before moving on to the next.

21. Check your work before going on. It’ll keep you from having to do things twice.

-4-

22. Group the same kind of things together. Write all your blog posts, then do all your social bookmarking, then send out your emails. It’ll make things a lot easier and faster.

23. Expect Surprises. Things come up, so build a few blocks of time into your schedule to handle them.

24. Handle the unexpected, then get back to the work at hand.

25. Don’t be upset when something temporarily derails your schedule. Things will work out all right.

26. Accept that circumstances beyond your control may make it impossible to do something on your list today.

27. Don’t sweat the delay, simply make that task the priority tomorrow.

28. Keep in mind some tasks may have to be scheduled to accommodate others.

29. Get help when you can. Believe it or not, you don’t have to do everything yourself.

-5-

30. Scan information when possible. You’ll still get what you need, just a little faster.

31. Put things away when you are done with them. It’ll save you time when you need them again.

32. Check off items as you go. Seeing the list shrink is motivating.  Remeber this is your CheckList!

33. Get away from your desk or laptop now and then. Even two minutes away will rest your eyes and keep you from slowing down.

34. Keep a second list for things that pop into your head while working on other stuff. You can refer to it later as necessary.

35. Give yourself an Eyeball Massage!  Reach a stopping point in what you are doing.  Now blink your eyes rapidly for one minute. while you move your eyeballs left-to-right.   Next tilt your head back, close your eyes, and then lightly and rapidly tap on your eyelids with your fingers.  Do this to each eye for 30 to 60 seconds.

-6-

36. Bookmark important web sites. Include your own website, and other sites you go to often.

37. Backup everthing on a remote disk or to a cloud server. Update the stored data every time you make a change.

38. Make sure your hard drive files as well as your hard copy files are always in order, so you can find what you need at once.

39. Keep your office stocked with supplies; otherwise, you’ll have to interrupt your day to go get something you need right this minute and waste valuable time.

40. Drink cool water throughout the day to stay refreshed.  And keep it as close to your workspace as you can.

41. Schedule one hour near the end of the day as a catch up period. Any tasks that got put off earlier can be addressed during that time.

42. Prepare your schedule for the following day. It’ll make it easier to dive in when morning comes.

 -7-

43. Go over what you have accomplished. You’ll be surprised and pleased at everything that got done.

44. Always set yourself up for the next day the night before.

45. Check your printer for paper and ink; make sure there is plenty for the next day.

46. Organize your workspace before you leave. It’ll be easier to deal with in the morning.

47. Make sure you develop a life away from your computer.  Remember to be outgoing in the real world and make real friends.

2012 and the Mayan Calendar

The end of the world? Again?

No. The world is moving towards a shift to higher consciousness.  Now is the time to become more aware.  More aware of your surroundings.  More aware of your feelings.  More aware of your dreams.

Everything is about balance.  Light and dark.  Good and bad.  The coming shift is no different and now is as good a time as any to notice how us humans have disrespected the Earth.  It is also a perfect time to commend ourselves for making moves towards restoring the balance and showing respect for our planet.  The time is now to take responsibility for all of our good deeds as well as negative aspects.
