Lassothemoon Gift Baskets Moves to a New Location

So far 2014 is off to a great start for us here at Lassothemoon Gift Baskets. We are proud to announce that we have moved to a new location.  For the past month we have been furiously moving into our new location at 6000 Bass Lake Road Minneapolis, Minnesota.  This is a huge step for us to have our own space because it’s something that we've dreamed about for a long time.  We hope this will open up more opportunities for us as we can now better serve our clients. 

                

    While we are extremely excited, we still have a lot of work to do to get our new location ready. We were so grateful to have found this space as it is in a great location.  The landlord here spruced up the room for us by repainting, taking out a wall and even adding in new carpet.  When we arrived it looked brand new!  By the time this is all said and done we will have a break room, a space to have our lovely gift baskets displayed, and a work area for designing and putting together the gift baskets. 

     

Empty Space Before Moving In
The first thing we had to do was move a lot of equipment and supplies from the old location to the new one.  Lucky for us the day we moved it was about 30 degrees Fahrenheit outside which is balmy considering the horrendously cold winter we've been having here in Minnesota.
We got a lot of stuff moved that day but as you can see in the photo we had a room full of boxes.  The moving part would be easy compared to organizing and setting up.  We had come prepared though.  Before making the move we measured the space and came up with the exact layout of our new store down to every last inch.  First we started installing shelving.  The space is not very big so we knew we had to optimize the area by using the walls.

   From there we've just been adding more shelving along with seating, a measuring table and organizing all of our supplies that we use to make the gift baskets.  It’s a lot of work but we’re having a blast.  We know that this new space is great for us and will allow us to interact with customers more and keep a larger inventory.  Feel free to stop in anytime, we’ll be here!We'll also be uploading a YouTube video of the move in process. It's all About the Mom's!
   Mother's Day is celebrated here in the U.S. every year on the second Sunday of May.  It is a day to appreciate the Moms of the world and most importantly your own mother.  Mother's Day has existed since the early 20th Century.  It officially became a nationally recognized holiday in 1914 after a woman named Anna Jarvis campaigned for it.  By the year 1920 the day had become the commercialized holiday that we know now but the idea is still the same: appreciate your mom.  Now Mother's Day is celebrated in some form all over the world.  Many countries celebrate the holiday to coincide with Women's Day and other religious holidays. Also, many cultures and religions celebrate the holiday on the first day of spring to help fertility and the Roman Catholic church also pays reverence to the Virgin Mary during this time.

   My mom is important to me because she is always there.  No matter how busy with work she is or how much work around the house there is to do my mom can always make time for my sister and I.  She never sits on the sidelines either.  Whether it is the waterpark or the ski hill my mom will always give it a try if it involves spending time with us.  She’s been to every dance recital, gymnastics meet, academic night and parent-teacher conferences.  She's goes to any doctor appointment and was always there when we need rides to school or a friend’s house.  While my sister and I are have jobs, go to college, have our drivers licenses that doesn't mean that we still don't rely on our mom.  Whenever school is causing stress or we are broke mom is still there.  Moms don't become less important just because their children get older.  Their roles change and they are needed for a different set of problems and that's what makes them special.  Moms are the sanctuary in a very busy and hectic world.

Why My Mom is Special
   While every country celebrates it a little differently the core principle surrounding the holiday is to appreciate the importance of Mother's.  The mother of the household is the backbone, the one that holds it all together. They are where all life begins and where everybody starts their life.  But being a mom is more than just giving birth.  A mom is just as important whether she is an adoptive or a foster mom.  Your mom could be any woman that takes care of you and looks out for your well being.

Loving What You Do!

  Whenever a customer or a potential customer interacts with your business they will remember how you treated them, how fast the service was, the quality of the work and how easy it was buy your product or use your service.  For example: at a restaurant, the customer service that the waiter or waitress provides you is just as important as the quality of the food.  The food should be delivered in a timely manner, the server should be friendly and offer help if needed, and they should not seem rushed or stress.  Customer service is just as important as the quality of the product.  It is half of the experience that customer will have with your business.   
   That brings us to a quote that explains a lot about a good way to live your life and also relates to customer service and the idea of loving what you do and everything else will fall into place: 
                    "If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know 
                     they were going to be."

  In the 1946 Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life, the main character George Bailey (played by James Stewart) asks Mary, "What do you want? Do you want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and I'll pull it down.  I'll give you the moon Mary."  That quote is one of most iconic and memorable quotes from a classic film.  It's also the inspiration for Lassothemoon Gift Baskets.  Here at Lassothemoon Gift Baskets we want to bring an experience to the customer, while also delivering good customer service and custom made gift baskets.  We want to lasso the moon for you.  Bring exactly what you want and put it in a gift basket.
