The Foo Fighters just released their latest album ‘Wasting Light’, are about to embark on a headline tour of the UK after an absence of 3 years and also just released their own documentary ‘Back and Forth’.
Back and Forth is a funny, informative, sad, exciting and intriguing documentary detailing the ups and downs of the Foos. Including interviews from band members (past and present), photos and live footage this documentary has everything a music fan could want. You get a real insight into Dave Grohl’s life after Nirvana and how the Foo Fighters came to be his new lease of life after the death of band mate and friend Kurt Cobain.
Grohl explains how he was criticised for his first Foos record (which he recorded entirely on his own) as it was heavy and sounded like Nirvana music, he explains how people kept asking him why he didn’t do something different, with which he responds:
“What did you think I was going to do? Make a fucking reggae record?”
This statement sums up everything there is to like about the man, straight to the point and a true rock musician. As you see the turbulent ups and downs the Foo Fighters went through; the line up changes, the drug overdoses and the constant bickering; it makes you realise that these guys aren’t just rock gods, they are human. How they fail under the pressures of real life and how they struggle to keep control in one of the most pressured industred on the planet. Unfortunately there are some casualties, namely original drummer William Goldsmith who was maybe not cut out for working with one of (arguably) the best drummers of our time, Dave.
As we near the end of the documentary we are lucky enough to see into the world of Dave as we enter his family home for the recording of Wasting Light. This is truly joyous to watch as each Foo Fighter brings their own family along; you see BBQs, playing by the pool and normal family life no different to that of anyone else. However, when these guys hit the studio, they rock. They rock hard.
This is a great watch and a must buy for any Foo Fighters fan. Any music fan even. A real insight into the life of Dave Grohl and the Foos is just what the doctor ordered. You can thank us later!

Rick Genest (a.k.a. Rico) is 25-year-old model from Châteauguay, Quebec, Canada, who shot to fame after appearing in Lady Gaga’s video for ‘Born This Way’. Known as Zombie Boy, Genest’s body is covered in skeletal tattoos making him resemble a decomposing corpse.
Prior to January 2011, the self-described ‘punk’ was living on the streets of Montréal taking on an array of odd jobs, including working as a circus freak, to pay for his tattoos. A popular local figure, Genest had over 20,000 fans on his Facebook page where Nicola Formichetti, Thierry Mugler’s new creative director and Gaga’s stylist, first found him.
Now serving as Formichetti’s muse, Rico has become the face of Mugler’s fall/winter 2011 line and is enjoying a new found career as a model. Genest has been featured in the spring/summer 2011 edition of Vogue Hommes Japan and can currently been seen in an editorial for nightlife.ca (seen here) photographed by Raphaël Ouellet.
Genest is entirely tattooed from the waist up but says he is not done yet, he wants to extend his body art down his legs and recently had his tongue slit to make him look like a reptile.

"The reason I use BYB Man is because it makes me feel clean."
The reason I wrote this book, is to let all the other members know that they are not alone out there.
It all started one day when my master decided to go to the gym for a workout. I had not seen really any members since I was young, because my master did not do any sport, so I had not been able to see other members for years.
I was excited that my master was going to the gym and so the day came and I can tell you, it changed my life completely. There were so many members in the shower after the workout and they all looked so big and full of confidence and I felt so small and I also could see how all the other members were laughing at me.
I was hoping that my master saw all this, so he also could take of me the way the other masters did with their members.
Was my master not proud of me?
Why can´t he groom me like the others that look so clean, big and confident?
My master was now in the gym several times a week and each time we were there, I tried to hide, so the other members did not see me, so they could laugh at me. One day at the gym while we were in the shower, my master start talking with another master and I was so embarrassed and tried to hide so the other member would not see me, but suddenly the member asked me; Are you okay? I did not know what to answer, but with a little voice, I said; I am okay yes. The member replied and asked: Why are you not like us? …Hmmm well don’t ask me; ask my master I said right away.
Then the member said; would you like to be one of us, a byb man? A byb man, what is that I replied? Being a byb man, means you take good care of your garden, nourish it, trim the bushes of you, so you will be tall, handsome and with full of confident. Yes, I would love that of course I replied. Then my master was finish talking and we went home…and I did not know how I could become a byb man, only that I wanted that.
That evening I thought I was dreaming. My master was going crazy I thought. He was washing the apartment, cleaning the floors, doing the laundry, cleaning the dishes, putting candles around the apartment, putting new on the bed…what is going on here?
Now he took me into the shower and what a surprise was waiting for me…. My master had heard my prayers!!! He first trimmed my bush and everything became clearer, so much light now. He then shaved my left and right hand and for the first time, I saw how they looked. They were as happy as I.
I could feel inside of me that my confidence began to rise and what a view I had now. I felt so proud and I was so happy and I was shouting out loud: I am a byb man, I am a byb man, I am a byb man…
That evening was not even finish, but I was so happy about this change. That night my master had visit from this beautiful woman and I was just so excited, because maybe I would be able to visit her club with my new style.
I will not go to into details about how this evening ended, but I can tell you this: This club was a byb woman, so you can imagine how happy I was that night.
From now on, I am one of the byb men and I love to be in the gym now as I am sure you already have guessed.
Today my master and his woman are living together and so do my lovely byb woman and I, so you can see that my master and me, both very happy and that is the perfect relationship a master and member should have.
Project Goals (the magazine):
Students in each class will work as a team of writers to publish a magazine which highlights various aspects of the 1920s in America and synthesizes elements from Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby to historical events from the Jazz Age.
Students will individually write an article for the team magazine. Articles may be presented as editorials, reviews, society pages, obituaries, features, etc. Each article must contain at least two references, a by-line, and an illustration.
Students will use MLA formatted references to insert factual elements into their articles. The magazine will conclude with a Works Cited page which lists all resources used in the magazine.
Students in each team will work together to design a cover and a table of contents for their team’s magazine.
Articles in the magazine should reference (at a minimum) these ideas –
And, as in any good magazine, articles should be accompanied by illustrations, photos, and other graphic elements that suit the presentation. Since this is the digital age (not the Jazz age), digital submissions (web based, on a thumb, or on a cd) are acceptable. I also read paper submissions. Of course if the submission is digital, it is possible to embed films and music into the piece.
I will edit the class submissions into an electronic magazine and distribute the results back to the class. I will try a new online compiler (for me) called Issuu. Check them out on the web at Issuu.com – pretty cool web app. (one of the top 50 apps of last year, actually)

I love BYB because it it is a complete product. First the shaving cream gives you the perfect shave and then the after-shave gives you the feeling of cleanness and a touch of being sexy. As a woman, it is important to use the right products in the most intimate part of your body. I believe that BYB fullfils and exceeds my expectation with that regard. I look forward to when BYB also introduces an intimate soap product to complete the range.
