In a study called “The Impact of Color in Marketing” researchers found that 90% of judgments about products are made off color. If you look back at the color emotion guide you will see that holds true. For example the color red is known for excitement and bold and the companies listed that have red in them really represent the color. (Ciotti)
Keeping in mind the direction your company or product you are selling wants to go, color may play an important role in that as well. Males and females have different favorite colors and least favorite colors. Knowing this the choice of color actually can play a big part in if a person will buy the product or not. Do you remember I time where you went to a store to buy a product and made a decision based on what one looked better in your eyes? Color just won the sale for the company. Even though a favorite color can differ for each person companies have figured out how to attract there customers based on surveys.
It’s funny to think something as simple as color can impact us during our buying decisions or even the way we feel. Whether it’s how you feeling when you wake up and you subconsciously put on a certain color outfit, or what color makes you feel confident, and makes your whole overall mood change. Weird things that you don’t even think matter have been proven to affect people in positive ways. For example if you’re a woman going on a date you should wear red because red is the color of passion and get other peoples heart pumping. If you’re a man going on a date you should wear blue because that is more of a stable color, and girls like to see a stable man. The color blue well also calm and relax both people to calm nerves. While on the other hand if you want to be seen as aggressive you wearing the color black will do so. In the NHL they changed it so the home teams had to wear white jerseys, and this made less penalties for aggression when they wore white jerseys rather than black jerseys. (Science of the People)
My conclusion to the research I have done is I believe that colors do have somewhat of an effect on peoples buying decisions and personal mood. I do however believe we will never know all the affects that color has on people because of people’s different perceptions, and what they went through personally in their lives. It is still an interesting topic that will be up for discussion in the world of psychology, and it would be interesting to see if they did another survey ten years down the road if the effects of color will change based of different cultural and society changes that take place generation to generation.

Psychology and Colors

Why is color such a powerful force in our lives? Have you ever experienced any alterations of the mind and body when it comes to colors? It is said that colors have an effect on people’s mood, feelings, and behaviors even though color perceptions are subjective there are universal meaning of colors. Warm colors like red, orange, and yellow are known from feeling warmth and comfort all the way to anger. Knowing this relatively new information it started a whole new way to market products, brands, and service effectively.
Sir Isaac Newton discovered when pure white light passes through a prism, it then separates into visible colors. Each color made up with a single wavelength and cannot be separated by any further colors. You can however combine lights and or mix paint to make a color from other colors. (Cherry)
Personal preferences, experience, upbringing, society, and context all have a role in the effect colors have on us. We as people associate colors with moods, and or objects. When you think of a pencil what color is it? Chances are its yellow because 75% of pencils you see are yellow. There is importance and advantages companies can use knowing personal preferences of color through gender, our society, and context in which the color is seen.

Austin’s Journal
Day 1
I thought I’d experience DC a little bit so I walked around all the memorials and monuments. That’s some of the most beautiful artwork in this nation I can promise you that. I can also promise you that I think I’m going insane.
Day 2
I was woke up early from the man who brought me here, I was scared. He told me who the assassination attempt was on and me being the perfect illuminati hating person I was the right person for the job. He then explained to that I can change the world in just 5 days.
Day 3
I was handed my weapon for my assassination attempt the first time the weapon of choice for this mission was something I never expected.
Day 4
Practicing with needles all day I am so tired of it, but the one thing I want the most is to stop the illuminati from continuing to sabotage our country. The president has a formal dinner at the white house in 3 days and guess who got me in to do my job, obviously the guy that gave me the weapon who shall remain anonymous.
Day 5
Done with my training all there to do is wait for this formal dinner I hope they have good food.
Day 6
The nerves are starting to kick in, I almost thinking about backing out but I can’t. I can’t because I know too much already I am a political threat to the United States of America.
Day 7
Today I learned something about myself. I learned I am responsible for the death of a president who could’ve been one of the greatest all time. I also learned that the president wasn’t in on the illuminati, I was so insane on the illuminati they got me good. They were the ones who made me do this I should’ve known all along. They promised me my life will never be the same again, and that don’t be surprised if I’m found dead in a “car crash” somewhere and never heard of again. I’m glad I was able to keep this journal away from the beast to share my story. I’m sorry I couldn’t explain everything with detail you have to understand who I was dealing with, I hope one day this journal of mine will be found and exposed to the whole world. At this moment I wish I just thought I’d know the truth instead of the truth actually being reality. I wish I was at the Denver Airport just watching planes fly in and out. I wish a lot of things but my wish is for my name not be forgotten and this story not be forgotten.
Sincerely, Austin

The Found Journal That Saved Society
I was just sitting in the airport watching planes come and go, this is a hobby of mine since there is nothing else to do in Denver Colorado. I’ve been sitting here waiting for mine to arrive for hours now. Since there is nothing to do in this town and it doesn’t fit my needs I’ve decided to do something better with my life something everyone else is too scared to do. Let me tell you who I am before I jump into my plan. My name is Austin and I’m 23 years old, also I’m a college graduate with a degree that doesn’t even matter, and live on my own. In the boredom of the everyday job that I hate, and the living on my own I began to do a lot of research that I thought was interesting. I started actually paying attention to the news and realizing the control system of a society we live in. See why one of my very few hobbies is to sit at the Denver International airport is because it’s said to be ruled, and the secret meeting place of the people who really rule the world, the illuminati. They are the reason everything that happens happens, they control what you see on the media, and they pretty much rule the United States. So here I am still sitting waiting for my plane to arrive, yes my plane. I am currently on my way to stop the government and spread the word about the illuminati. The plane ride sucked it was a 3 hour flight from Denver to Washington D.C. the plane was constantly shacking, the airlines food was terrible, I didn’t get to nap because I was squished in between two bigger guys, but that out of the way I should tell you something. I am on a mission, a secret mission that’ll all make sense when it is finished in 7 days.

next day arrives and I’m in pain. Doris and the surgeon whose name I don’t even know yet are talking outside my door. Pressing my button for assistance, Doris comes running in. “What” Doris says in a panThe ic. “What are you and the surgeon talking about” I replied. “Me and John are figuring out the next steps for your recovery” Doris says. I am told that those next steps are recovery, recovery, recovery which was hard for me to hear from the surgeon. As jealous as I was watching everyone else passing by in the hallway with both their arms smiling and laughing I was sure that I had to make a plan to get back at the surgeon. It sounds like I have all the time in the world to strategize. Days pass like years I am so bored, and I’m sick of other people having to assist me with stuff I use to be able to do by myself only a couple of days ago. This is by far the most difficult thing mentally and physically I have been through. I don’t wish this type of pain on anyone in the world except one person John.
One week into this journey of being stuck in a hospital bed and my thoughts are getting more and more twisted. Recently I’ve been able to gain control of my legs and have practiced movements with them trying to think of revenge on John. It was hard enough having to see the man who cut off both of my arms multiple times daily and acting like everything was fine. Then all of a sudden John the surgeon stopped showing up for his daily visits and I asked Doris about this. Doris explains to me the situation and I’m not sure if I like it. See what Doris explained to me is that Johns case is being reviewed by the board of directors and they are going to fire him, and we will have the choice to sue him.

Awhile passes and I start thinking maybe this is the right thing. It doesn’t matter that I was jealous of the fact that he still had both of his arms and had a good job. After this whole time of being trapped in a hospital I never noticed all the people that were actually here for me and care for me. This was the first time since I’ve been in the hospital that I’ve been happy and things were only getting better. Since John the surgeon got fired, and I am able to sue them, I had the choice of money or new bionic arms that will make me the first human robot ever. Since money couldn’t buy me those bionic arms and I really wanted arms again I choose to be the first human robot and I figured I could make money touring the world anyways.

I am now 32 years old, and I’m living the life. Funny to think that just a few years ago I almost lost it all. Now I’m a millionaire thanks to my new arms, and I’m still the only person in the world that has them. I walked past John the surgeon the other day on the side of the road with a sign, and even though this guy took my arms away he was also the reason for all my success. I stopped what I was doing and walked over to him, he looked very different when it came to his hygiene you can tell he has had a rough couple of years. Doing the only thing I could think of at the time I gave him a check and said thank you. It’s crazy to think we each had it all lost it, and then got it back again. Revenge isn’t necessary these days. All we need to do is help each other and the world could be filled with a bunch of “bionic arms”.

Help
I have never been in this kind of situation before. I personally always thought this only happened in the movies. The last thing I remembered about that awful night was the headlights getting closer and closer than koas. My eyes blink and the brightest light ever soon follows, I notice I’m waking up from a surgery. With my whole body being numb they ask me questions to see if I’m cohesive. ‘’Hey sir can you tell me your name said the surgeon?’’ “Nolan’’ I replied. After him asking more questions about me like my age, what time of the year it is, and if I knew what happened, I reply fast to all of those I am 29 years old. It is the fall, I think we were in a car crash. Where is my wife, Doris, the doctor tells me she is fine she just went to go get some fresh air. It was encouraging knowing she was unharmed in this horrific car accident. Some would say that Doris and I have a weird relationship since she is ten years older than me. I’ve always looked past that she is carefree and I am just foolish. Doris walks in the room with a sad look on her face and I’m unaware of what’s really going on. The surgeon, whose name I’m not aware of, starts to tell me what happened in surgery. He says it was so hectic rushing me into surgery and my arm was swelling up. They said they had to amputate the left arm. In such a rush, the surgeon grabbed the equipment necessary to remove my left arm, and as fast as he could, to save my life, he sawed off my arm. As he was saying this I looked down at my arm or what was supposed to be my arm. Come to learn that the new surgeon had cut off the wrong arm. He cut off my right arm, but still had to cut off my left arm due to the traumatic swelling. At this point, it felt like life was over I never imagined living life without any arms. Doris is going to have to care for me 24/7 now, I don’t want to put her through that. On the verge of tears and wanting to hit something (which is impossible for me at this moment) we yelling out to the surgeon that we will sue him for this mistake. The surgeon remained calm and professional for the duration of the argument. I defiantly expected some sort of sorry from him, but he couldn’t even tell me that. I could tell it was going to be a rough night ahead of me. Thankfully the hospital has good drugs that will make me sleep like a baby.

There is only a couple hours left until the groups ride arrives at this cabin and seconds feel like hours they want to leave so bad. Jake is laying there motionless knowing he only has so much more time as he progressively gets worse and worse. The group is trying to give him water and get him to talk and figure out what is wrong with Jake. The gaudy roar is heard once more in the distant and the roar is getting closer and closer. The monster hasn’t roared while the sun was up this whole time they were at this cabin, this is very different. Jake laying on the floor while this is all happening and the most movement he made all day he made when that roar hit his ear. The group remembered the saying that they should wait, but they aren’t sure if they should wait for this monster to show up after it just paralyzed Jake. They look at Jake to make the decision to stay or run from the monster. They ask Jake to blink if he thinks they should stay to see what’s going to happen, Jake tries his hardest to blink and the group can tell the half blink was a for sure yes. So everybody huddles up and waits, preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. Boom the monster seems inches away now from the tiny cabin. Jake is still by the window and gets a look at the beast once again, and something unthinkable happened. Jake popped up and the monster slowly turns away. The group is in shock while Jake magically jumped up and was just like him old self. It’s fair to say that these group of kids won’t be going to going to a cabin in the middle of the woods anymore, they did however learn a valuable lesson of friendship, and patience. On the ride home the group discusses and promises each other to never tell anyone what happened in that cabin that weekend.

Wait

It was a cold and windy night in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do but wait, wait for what might happen or what might not happen. A group of kids sitting alongside each other whispering in fear with what just happened a few minutes prior causing the electricity to go out in the small cabin they are vacationing at. All they heard was a humungous bang followed by complete darkness. Confused with what to do at this moment they begin to plot a plan. It doesn’t help that’s it just got dark out and the moon is nonexistence on this cool September night, which causes the group looking for the flashpoint to struggle. After ten minutes which seemed like hours to these kids the quote unquote leader of the group Jake found the flashlight which was tightly jammed in the messy duffle bag he had packed. Turning it on and looking at everyone face to face asking them what they should do. They all respond by telling Jake to go outside to see if he could figure out what happened.

Once Jake goes outside the cabin to see why the power has gone out, he notices it wasn’t storming out, and there was no sign of any tampering to the electric box. At least the group had enough batteries to last them until their ride picks them up in two days he thought to himself. The realization had set in that they won’t be able to cook, or get the cabin warm without power and fear followed. Knowing these next couple days are going to be tough they decided to stick up for each other and realize they are all in this together and decided the preeminent thing to do was go to bed and see if the power would be back on when they woke up.

While sleeping in the middle of the night Jake is woken up by gaudy roar and he is the only one to hear and it tells him something he already knows. It tells him that there is nothing to do but wait for what might happen or what might not happen. He goes back to bed confused and plans on telling the group about the experience when they all wake up.

The sun comes up and everyone awakes from a deep sleep, some even forget about what happened the night before. They go throughout their day like a normal one still without power though, it seems as if the power never turned off they were having so much fun. It was just a relaxing day and all they had to do was make it through one more cold night. It’s an hour away from sunset and Jake finally tells the group about his experience from the night before. The group didn’t even believe him and they were actually making fun of him the remainder of the time the sun was up.

The final night begins and the spirits of everyone is high they are actually excited to get back to their own beds tomorrow. Everyone is in the cabin since it’s starting to get cold out and because they hear noises when they are outside. They converse to one another about what noises they exactly are hearing outside in the distance. The group agrees that the best way to describe this noise was a gaudy roar, at that instant Jake tells the group that’s what he heard last night and he isn’t kidding. The group gets serious at this point knowing something is out in the darkness that told them to wait for what might happen and they have no idea now of what might happen. At this moment ear piercing growls from the woods are heard by all the people at the cabin once again and the roars are getting closer by the minute. They prepare themselves the best way they can in the dark. Jake gathers up old broken pieces of wood ready to attack this unknown beast. This creature is getting closer and closer the noise is the worst noise you can imagine something unexplainable. Jake dashes to the nearest window knowing this beast is close maybe close enough to see. As he slowly pulls back the curtain he can’t believe what he has just seen then boom! Silence follows the huge boom and shortly after that so does the electricity. The group can’t believe what they see, their leader laying on the floor. Flashlight laying on the floor right next to him shining on his face. The group notices that Jake is unable to move or talk. They don’t know what to do without their leader he has been there for them throughout all the hard times in the woods.
