Hoe vaak ga je gemiddeld shoppen en waar?
Minstens 2 keer per week! Vanaf dat ik ergens een gaatje heb ga ik gaan shoppen! Meestal shop ik in Brussel omdat ik er woon en als ik in een andere stad werk ga ik er na mijn prestatie of tijdens mijn lunchpauze shoppen !
Ik shop ook heel graag in Antwerpen omdat er daar winkels zijn die je nog niet in Brussel hebt!
Ik shop ook doodgraag in Parijs maar dat doe ik alleen als ik er moet werken, dan neem ik altijd een dagje extra om er te shoppen.
Maakt me niet uit waar ik ben, ik vind wel in elk land en elke stad iets leuks ;)

Je woont in Brussel, maar vermeld Milaan op facebook. Is Milaan je favoriete stad?
Ik woon in Brussel samen met mijn ouders,twee kleine zusjes en mijn broertje! We hebben onlangs een huis gebouwd en ik heb de 2 de verdieping voor mij alleen J.
Op mijn FB staat Milaan omdat ik er heel vaak ga om te werken! Ik heb er een modelagentschap waarvoor ik vaak minimum 2 maanden moet wonen. Toen ik dit op mijn FB heb aangepast woonde ik in Milaan voor mijn werk vandaar...
Heb je Italiaanse roots? (zo zie je er wel een beetje uit :-)
Ik heb geen italiaanse roots, ik ga er heel vaak maar puur en alleen voor mijn modellenwerk!
Je bent full time model, zit je bij een bureau?

Ik zit bij IMM, International Model Management in Brussel. Ik werk al jaren voor dit modelagentschap.
Hoe ben je in het vak terecht gekomen?
Op mijn 12de ben ik gescout op de Avenue Louise door mijn agentschap en zo is alles begonnen.
Hoe valt het modellenwereldje mee?
Ik werk al 10 jaar als model en heb nooit problemen gehad in dit wereldje. Mijn bedoeling was ook niet om een TOP MODEL te worden. In het begin was het voor mij eerst een leuke hobby en bijverdienste en na mijn school heb ik besloten om er mijn full-time job van te maken! Dankzij deze job heb ik veel kunnen reizen en ontdekken! Ik ben er ook heel vroeg zelfstandig en volwassenen door geworden.
Wat is het leukste aan model zijn en wat zijn de grootste nadelen aan de job?
Het leuke aan modellenwerk zijn de reizen, nieuwe kennissen, de ervaring, de centjes...
Ik ben ook zot van mode en dankzij mijn job ben ik altijd op de hoogte van de nieuwe trends!
Wat ik soms irritant vind is dat je als mannequin vaak een perfect imago moet behouden ,altijd tip top in orde moet zijn van kop tot teen en daar heb ik het soms wat moeilijk mee J De buitenwereld verwacht van jou dan ook dat je er altijd super uitziet terwijl ik graag in mijn vrije tijd zonder een druppel make-up op straat kom ;)
Wat zijn de leukste opdrachten die je al gehad hebt? En zijn er ook opdrachten die je minder graag of niet doet?
Wat ik het liefste doe zijn modeshows en shoots. Ik vind het altijd zo leuk om het resulaat van een shoot te zien en tijdens modeshows laat ik me volledig gaan op het podium :)
Showroom daarentegen is echt niet mijn ding daarom dat ik ook geen showroom doe en hostessenwerk doe ik ook niet.
Mijn beste jobs zijn reclamespotjes, die betalen ook het meest vooral als ze voor meerdere landen gebruikt worden.
En hoe zie je de toekomst?
Ik hoop model te kunnen zijn tot mijn 30, 35ste :)
Ik wil heel graag trouwen en een gezinnetje beginnen rond mijn 28ste. Ik wil ook niet te laat beginnen want ik wil een jonge en actieve moeder zijn voor mijn kinderen!
Na mijn modellenwerk hoop ik een leuke job te kunnen vinden in de MODE wereld.
Ik zou ook heel graag mijn eigen collectie willen beginnen binnen een paar jaar en/of voor een groot modehuis werken :)
Heb je nog andere hobbies/passies?
Naast mijn modellenwerk spendeer ik ook veel tijd met mijn 2 kleine zusjes. Ze zijn mijn alles! Ik kook ook heel graag en shoppen is natuurlijk mijn grootste hobby and passion J.
Heb je een vriend? En zoja, zit hij in dezelfde business als jij?
Ik ben al 2 jaar met een lieve jongen uit Antwerpen! Hij is uitbater van een restaurant. Ik mag en kan vandaag echt zeggen dat hij de man van mijn leven is! Hij is ook helemaal geen jaloers type, hij steunt me in alles wat ik doe, dus ook mijn job is nooit een probleem geweest in onze relatie!
En je beste vriendin(nen)? Ik kan mijn echte vriendinnen op 1 hand tellen. Neen ze zijn geen modellen, 2 van hen studeren nog en de rest werkt full-time in een bedrijf maar wel allebei in marketing afdeling.

Op een dag word je wakker en besef je dat je niet langer een snotneus bent... Voor mij kwam dat moment onlangs pas, toen ik besefte dat mn studententijd echt wel voorbij is, ik al moeder van 3 kinderen zou kunnen zijn (ok, dan was ik mss wel heel vroeg begonnen ;-) en dat ik ondertussen echt al x aantal jaren werkervaring heb...
Vooral dat laatste... werkervaring... die term klinkt soms nog raar in mijn hoofd, misschien omdat m'n job niet echt als werken aanvoelt (I LOVE IT!!) maar het is wel effectief werken.
I'm always on the road, I'm making money en ondertussen ben ik ook niet meer bang van de postbus; in het begin durfde ik die amper te openen omdat ik enkel maar rekeningen kreeg.
Waar is de tijd dat je als kind elke dag naar de postbus rende, hopend dat er post voor je was? Toen kreeg ik enkel leuke kaartjes of liefdesbrieven... misschien moet ik m'n lief eens de opdracht geven dit terug te doen (in opdracht, hoe romantisch ;-)
Toch zijn er ook veel leukere dingen aan "groot" worden dan enkel rekeningen betalen! Rekeningen betalen van je uitgebreide shopping sprees bijvoorbeeld,
dat is een heel ander verhaal! Niets is zaliger dan dure dingen kopen voor jezelf, gewoonweg omdat je het waard bent! (God damn L'oreal, ik gebruik dit voor alles, maar dan ook alles waar m'n oog op valt! Behalve voor mannen... daar weiger ik voor te betalen en ik hoop dat het nooit zo ver komt...
Ja alleen al de gedachte dat je elk moment je designer tas kan pakken en vertrekken met gelijk welk wandelend wasbord, naar om het even welk paradijselijk oord op aarde is best rustgevend in momenten van stress (die het groot zijn met zich meebrengt). So workin' girls, this issue is yours! See something you like? Buy it! Just because u can ;-)

Eerie Vampire Skeletons Found in Bulgaria
While the real-life horror stories of the zombie apocalypse are becoming a growing concern in the United States, Bulgaria seems to have its own problems.
The Associated Press reported that archaeologists excavated two, not-so-ordinary skeletons in Sozopol, Bulgaria last weekend. Each of the skeletons was held down in its own grave with iron rods rammed through its chest. This pagan practice began in the Middle Ages - the period from which these skeletons originate - and continued in the early 1900s.
The skeletons found last weekend were said to date back to the Middle Ages.
“Vampires” with iron rods nailed through their chests have even been found in countries near to Bulgaria like Serbia as well as many other countries,reported BBC news.
According to the New York Daily News, Bozhidar Dimitrov, chief of the National History Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria stated that unlike the new cases of zombies in the U.S., vampire skeletons are old news in Bulgaria. About 100 skeletons have been found in Bulgaria by gravediggers in a similar condition.
After potential zombies in the U.S.and potential vampires resting in their graves in Bulgaria, everyone better stock up on their silver bullets because werewolves could be next!

U.S. Slashes Funding for Sesame Street Pakistan
A $20 million initiative to develop a Pakistani version of "Sesame Street" has been cut short due to allegations of corruption, according to a report from the AP.
"Sim Sim Hamara" first aired at the end of 2011 and was intended to go on for at least three seasons. Like other international co-productions of "Sesame Street," the show was adapted for its country's specific culture and needs, pairing familiar characters like Elmo with new ones like cricket-loving schoolgirl Rani, the "epitome of a traditional Pakistani woman" Baji and vain crocodile Haseen-O-Jameel. According to the AP:
The U.S. cut off funding for the project and launched an investigation after receiving what it deemed to be credible allegations of fraud and abuse on a telephone hotline set up by the U.S. Agency for International Development in Pakistan, said U.S. State Department spokesman Mark Toner. "So rather than to continue to throw good money after bad, we thought it was prudent to cut off this program and wait for the results of the investigation," Toner told reporters in Washington.

Poverty In America
Sometimes,war is a necessary means to end. When vulnerable
people are being oppressed, it is the job of the powerful to defend them with
all the might and resources that is available. The intent of the war is to
stamp out anything that inflict pain on others. The United States has always
been willing to step up to the plate. But what if the required war is on
poverty?, will the U.S. fight this war as it has previous ones?
Today, on just about every news outlet, politicians make noise
about the national debt. Their concern is that the U.S. is spending too much
money that they don't have. I suppose that American's should applaud their
honorable efforts. According to Babylon.com, the
national debt is a bit over 13.6 trillion dollars and growing. But here is a
bit of other relative news, according to costofwar.com, the two wars in Afghanistan and
Iraq adds 1.6 trillion dollars to the debt.
War proponents continue to say the war is a necessary means to an
end. They also believe that the wars should continually be funded to support
the commitment that the U.S. made with the two embattle countries. Meanwhile
the citizens of the United States is bracing themselves for the eventual cuts
in funding to domestic programs, as the new conservative movement moves into
the House and Senate.
Attention, politicians and American citizens, Poverty should be
the new war. According to, FeedingAmerica.org, in
2008, 4.8 million citizens used food assistant programs, that works out to 4.1%
of the U.S. Citizenry. Similarly to the claims that international
war-proponents make, inaction on poverty causes death as well; little or no
health care causes serious decisions to be made, often leading to death;
malnutrition resulting in ill health and depressed and frustrated communities
increases the statistics of victims of violent crime. The depression of 2008
has pushed unlikely Americans in to the poverty class. Some of the new
impoverish have never saw their incomes grow be low a middle class income, they
now themselves asking the government for help to feed their kids or buy
medicine.
A slew of ultra-conservative elected officials are ready to slash
programs, make laws that further depressed communities. All this, to curtail
spending and slow down the deficit. If not, generations of Americans will have
the debt hanging around their neck many years after the death of the citizens
who created the debt. It is a noble and necessary cause.
Isn't equally important to feed, clothe and provide shelter,
for the present citizens? The new lawmakers have a choice to make; do
they decrease social programs and continue to fund international ones? or
simply, cut both significantly. Clearly, whatever is done, more people
will suffer if America drawback its money, support or manpower toward the wars.
That is, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, because the war against poverty has
hardly been started.

The Hole is proud to announce the exhibition “Portrait of a Generation” where over 100 artists who make up the art scene here will make portraits of each other to give image to a community of people. The works will be hung salon style on our gallery walls, and include painted, drawn and photographic portraits.
We are producing a catalogue for the exhibition that will serve as a kind of yearbook for New York City in 2012.
