Fencing is a group effort. You are split into pairs when you are in a fight. There are different types of swords that are used Epee, Foil and the Sabre. My personal favorite is the foil. The point of fencing is to try and receive another point from the other person, you do this by either making a quick jab or slashes (when you use Sabre). The outfits that are worn are normally at the color of white. In the olden days they used a cotton ball dipped in ink and attatched to the end of the sword to keep track of the score. Here are some basic rules for fencing "Never wave swords about not point a weapon at someone who is not wearing a mask. When holding a sword, keep the point down towards the floor. Do not run while holding a weapon by the handle. Always hold it by the point when walking or running. If you need two hands to don your mask put your foil down first. Make sure that your foil has a covering over the point and that the weapon is not broken or badly bent near the tip." 

This sport can be good for a variety of things. I would have to thingk that it helps mostly with balance, flexibility, strength and has some components of being aerobic.

The picture shown above are the swords and the places that you can hit with them. The picture to the top right is a picture of one of the advanced moves that is normally for the epee and the foil. The bottom middle is showing a lunge and a perrie six.

There are things that you do that can help you to become disqualified. Such as if you step out of your box or you hit a part of the body that you werent supposed to.

This is a great sport that can be learned at any point in someones life. It is very active and you do learn to play with a team. Battles are what ever you make them. This is an amazing sport great for anyone ready to try.
