The EX Factor
When did:
the EX become such a factor to some people? I feel as though if they are
your EX then they are an EXample of what you don’t want the next
person to be. What made them your EX? Is it that they had the qualities
that you were looking for in the beginning but didn’t really stay consistent
with? OR did they just fuck you over? You know how people are amazing in the
first 9-12 weeks of getting to know them, they do all the right things to please
you and make you happy. Then after awhile that diminishes, once they know they
got you in their back pocket. You will deal with the most random bullshit that
they throw at you and still stick around just because they “make you happy” or
you “don’t know what to do without them.” The real reason you don’t want to
leave is because you feel comfortable and they got you to that level. Once you
feel comfortable you never want to leave someone no matter how bad they hurt
you. You will accept anything they throw at you because you think that someone
else won’t want you at all. Trust me you are 100% wrong. Know your worth before
you get into anything with anybody. Do not allow them to destroy your
self-esteem . . . it is called SELF-esteem for a reason. Move on with life, do
you and find something better.

friends have been through:
Have you ever been in that situation where
someone you’re talking too just abruptly just leaves the “getting to know”
relationship you guys had and just disappears without a trace? Come to find out
they went back to their EX who they constantly BASH and had a falling out
with, but there OFFICIALLY back together? The crazy thing about this, is that you
wasted a couple months getting to know them and spent hours with them. Then when
they just up and disappear they don’t do the grown up thing, which is talk to
you about it or give you an explanation. In my mind this is wrong, especially if
you don’t even talk to the person and just leave. Sometimes you can’t understand
why people do things; you just have to understand that life has its lessons. If
you don’t completely END something with an EX then sometimes
moving on is hard. People love that comfortable feeling with their EX’s
that why they still consider their EX a factor in their
lives.

Guidance from an Older and Hopefully Wiser Me to Me
I've recently read a book called What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self edited by Ellyn Spragins. The moment I picked up the book and started reading I was entranced at all of the basic guidance that comes from each letter written to the younger self. Basic guidance that we wished we knew then but didn't. Or that someone expressed to us, but we dismissed. In a nutshell, I was inspired to write my own letter to my younger self. I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved in that book - not just because I was able to write my younger self a letter, but because the guidance also serves as a reminder to my present self.
Yes, I know some will read this and think "Um, how old are you???" And to answer that question - I'm not as young as I may appear but I am also not so old that I can't have a younger self. Everyone has a younger self, wouldn't you agree?
I am My Own Best Guide
Dear Chips,
At the moment you feel like the world has just ended and there is no point in continuing school or work. But stick with it because when you get even just a little bit older – not even five more years – you will begin to see how everything ties in to all of the pain and anger that you’re currently feeling. Don’t be so mad at the friends who tell you that “everything will be okay.” They all have your best interest in mind and even if that takes a little bit of false hope, you will be fine and everything will be okay in time – you never were very good at practicing patience. Just breathe.
As for school and work, no matter how pointless it seems right now you will see how important it was for you to experience many of those classes that you just love to skip out on. You think that you will never start your own business because it would be too much work – but believe me when I say you’re going to wish you went to those classes and while there, actually listened. It’s wonderful how you’ve found the subject that excites your mind and keeps you wanting more, but your future will blow you away. You can’t even imagine how amazing and interesting your work will be. And even better, you’re going to love it.
You’re stubbornness and restlessness will get you far and it is through them that you will find the courage to find what you love. Just breathe.
Listen to your heart and don’t dismiss even the smallest ounce of passion for any subject matter. You’ve been blessed with an enormous amount of talent and you’re going to get to use it all. The constant feeling of having your physical body being two steps behind your mind is going to propel your deepest desires and goals. In fact, you feel this way because it will be useful in your future work. And since we’re on it, that doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone else – it just means you’re going to be stubborn and unconventional and creative and still have the energy to do even more. Ironically, it will be learning how to sit still that makes all the difference.
Be proud of who you are, what you’ve done and the person that you are going to grow into. I am.
Good luck with everything and when all else fails, I trust that you’re just the person to try try and try again.

Rome At A Glance
It has only been five days here in Rome, and already I feel like this city is home. While it seems like I have seen nearly everything, in reality, there is so much more to experience. In an attempt to navigate Rome, I have walked to so many places including Vatican City, the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, etc. In fact, walking has become such a usual occurence that 30-40 minute distances are both expected and enjoyed.

The statue, designed and built by Bernini in 1762, depicts Oceanus controlling the flow of water and celebrates the discovery of a natural water source in Rome. In other words, the Trevi Fountain does not pump water by machine, but a natural flow by aquaducts.

As the title implies, this technique is all about dogs – and believe me, you got to love these guys. They are men’s best friend for one good reason! They are always happy to see you and are always full of energy and joy. If you have a dog as pet it would be impossible for you not to love them. But yet, even if you don’t appreciate them for all what they are already, there’s one more reason for you to start doing so. Dogs are one of the best help you’ll ever have when picking up girls during the day.
Dogs pose, for you and the girls, as a perfect excuse to open a conversation. If you were walking in the street and approached some girl, it may look a bit odd. But instead, if you approach her while she is walking out her dog, the approach becomes somehow more accepted. After all, phrases as “Oh, what a lovely dog. What’s his name?” look totally inoffensive. This applies not only for when you are the one approaching, but also when girls might want to approach you instead. It’s not so common for a girl to start talking to you randomly in the street – but if you are walking out your dog these things just happen.
Dogs are popular by themselves, but in many cases if a girl approaches you while you are walking out your dog is because she is interested in YOU and not only on him. If she finds you attractive and would like to speak with you, she might find your pet as a perfect excuse to do so. Of course, she’ll start speaking about him and not about you, but once the ice has broken, everything gets easier.
So dress up nicely, look your best and take your dog out for a walk. Or, instead, you can also go for a coffee in some nice bar with tables out, and while you are sitting down and doing something interesting girls might bite the hook. Of course, the dog will be the star of any chitchat conversation, and it’s your duty to make this become something more serious. The key, again, is to be direct. Pick up lines as “Hey, this is unbelievable. You know, this little guy never seems likes anyone… But he’s really into you” work for this goal. Keep reading this article...
