Steph Curry Goes Nuts!!!

Golden State Rain Maker!
Someone forgot to tell the New York Knicks they should of brought some umbrellas tonight at Madison Square Garden due to some heavy rains from the west. Stephen Curry dropped a dirty 54 points on a 18-28 shooting night while dropping 11 threes on 18 attempts. That is a season league wide high as well as a career high. Think he still isn't an All-Star? Houston we need a recount.
Yeah Golden State loss 109-105 in a Wednesday night thriller but damn. I've always been more a North Carolina guy but Steph Curry has a new follower. SPLASH!!!!
Plus these Warriors sure know how to make jerseys, look how dope they are. ========>
Marc Jackson: Can I get you some Thai with that Curry or you just like it straight fire?

Q: Describe what you have done that demonstrates leadership skills.

A: During my four years at Georegetown District High School (G.D.H.S) I became an active member of the school community, I found it my responsibility to promote inclusivity and fair play. I encouraged my peers to get involved with clubs and teams as well as attend school productions, sports games, and philanthropic events. For this, I was recognized with the spirit award.

I spent several weeks organizing a fashion show in support of the Because I Am a Girl campaign, raising over 2000$ to help empower women and girls around the globe. I was responsible for the financial aspect of the show, which included finding sponsors, managing the expenses and ensuring a profit was made. I also designed and created items that were featured on the runway and worked with the fashion department to create the rest of the items needed for the success of the event. This taught me how to organize and communicate with a large group of people, as well as the importance of time management. Through events like these, I have proven responsible and reliable.

Q:          Describe your involvement in school and/or community organizations, clubs or teams.

A: Since moving to Victoria and attending the University of Victoria, I have tried to involve myself equally in school and in community activities. As a member of Kappa Beta Gamma International Sorority Upsilon Chapter, I currently hold two officer positions: merchandise chair and historian. As merchandise chair I am responsible for working with a large group to decide upon orders that need to be made as well as following through with them on my own. As historian I am responsible for accurately recording and documenting all traditions, as well as storing these documents in a neat and organized manner.

As a member of Kappa Beta Gamma I often collaborate with other groups on campus such as Victorious Events to plan and promote events around town. This includes advertising around UVic and Camosun as well as selling tickets.

I spend time regularly volunteering with the Special Olympics as well as with the MS society. I try and get involved with other philanthropic events when time permits, some of these include: CIBC run for the cure, BMO St. Patrick’s day run supporting diabetes, Relay for Life supporting the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

Q:     Describe ways you have demonstrated your initiative and creativity.

A: As the land activities coordinator for several years with the West Loon Lake Campers Assoc. (W.L.L.C.A.) I was responsible for arts and crafts as well as sports. This meant creating and implementing crafts and games suitable for all age groups and ensuring their success.

~The Art that Never Goes Out of Style~

Through fashion I have been able to express much of my creativity by designing and sewing many garments. Many of these have been featured in fashion shows for charity including the Because I Am a Girl fashion show and the Canadian Cancer Society fashion show. My high school recognized my creative talents and ability to apply it to various projects by awarding me a certificate of achievement from the fashion department at G.D.H.S. I also design all of the merchandise for Kappa Beta Gamma, Upsilon chapter. This includes unique t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jerseys, bags, and jewelry.

Q:        Describe your awards, achievements or recognition you have earned.

A: Throughout high school I received many awards for a variety of things including, academics, sports, and volunteer awards. I graduated from G.D.H.S with honors. I received a G.D.H.S. Team Player Award from both the tennis and swim teams for ensuring the success of the team by creating a positive environment through support and encouragement of other team members in practice and in competition. I was awarded a certificate of Appreciation for volunteering with the annual Robbie Burns night by contributing both my culinary and dance skills. As well as I received subject awards in my senior year from both the fashion and math departments for outstanding performance in these areas over my four years at Georgetown District. In addition I received a certificate of achievement for completing over 100 volunteer hours.

Q: The Bachelor of Commerce program at UVic is a mandatory Co-operative education program. Co-operative education is a program of experiential learning which integrates the students’ academic and career studies on campus with relevant and productive work experience. Please identify what you hope to learn through participating in co-op work terms and your career goals for the future.

A: Co-operative education is a great opportunity because it provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain real work experience in a field they are considering going into. I hope to affirm my career path through co-op by experiencing first hand what it is that I feel I would like to do after graduation. It is a great opportunity to network and create connections with possible future employers as well as expand my resume and references. It makes students more desirable to hire after graduation because of their real work experience. Once I have completed the business program I hope to continue to study French and complete a concurrent degree. After graduation I hope to enter the business side of the fashion industry, an industry that is rapidly expanding with a vide range of jobs. My French will be an asset in the business world because Canada is a bilingual country with many fashion events that take place in Montreal, Quebec.

Q:      All Commerce degree programs are not the same. Each program has features which differentiate it from others. Explain why you are interested in entering the Bachelor of Commerce degree program at UVic.

A: The University of Victoria offers a unique commerce program. Some of the ways it is different from other Commerce programs is that the program is always evolving to meet the needs of the students and to keep up with our quickly changing world. The program encourages creative thinking while ensuring the basic necessities are still being enforced. The program is built to encourage sustainable business practices as well as success across all disciplines of business. In addition, small classes sizes allow the professors to offer help to individuals, as well as create a program that best suits the current students. The enthusiastic and accredited professors provide both motivation and a productive learning environment. Most of all, the continued success of the UVic Commerce students both in school and after graduation makes the program extremely desirable.

Q: List the typical business applications you have experience with.

A: I am proficient in the following programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project Professional and PowerPoint and Prezi.  I have some experience with Audacity audio editor and Adobe Photoshop, photo editor. As well as I am familiar with various web browsers including: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The Liar Play

Having been warned beforehand about the theater's structure and how it is very unique; I was not surprised by that.  Even though it wasn't a surprise, I did not exactly enjoy it.  I felt way too close to the characters.  The stage was way too close for my liking.  The setup of the audience being on the stage with curtains was very different.  The whole set up reminded me of a jack-in-the-box.  It was just too close that it was almost scary.  I was not comfortable sitting that way for three hours straight.
This play was clearly thought through.  The Renaissance period can    be uninteresting to some; therefore Ives incorporated some modern day language as well.  This to me made the play more interesting and even humorous at times.  When I see a play the last thing I want to feel is boredom.  During this production I was not bored at all.  How could I be with the location of the stage.  Ives once said, "With my plays, when the lights go down at least the audience isn't thinking  oh god two more hours of this."  This statement by Ives is 100% accurate.
The title fit the play perfectly because Dorante, Clarice, Lucree, as well as all of the other characters lied throughout the show.  I like when the title relates to the whole production, because when it doesn't that just leaves me confused.  The aspect of lying in the show was relate-able for me and I'm sure many audience members.  It shows what lies can ultimately lead too. The relate-able sense intrigues the audience members in my opinion.   This play by David Ives is one I would recommend to all.

Yet again DC has killed off another Robin, this time Damien Wayne, Bruce's own bloodline. Why this will boost sales, it does kill off the best Robin since Dick Grayson. All I am left is why DC, why Morrison? A once favorite comic book house, DC is now the ESPN of the comic book houses. Next up, Tebow get's a 12 issue Superman tie in arc. smh :/
America in attempts to dwarf the growing threat known as North Korea we send one of our model citizens over to talk some sense. Enter Dennis Rodman, WTF?! http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon/2013/02/27/dennis-rodman-psy-korea/1950859/
Well it's official, the San Francisco 49ers have sent Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2nd round pick this year and a 2014 pick next. This stock piles the already 14 picks the Niner's have this season and sends Alex Smith, one of the more classy individuals to a team built to compete now. You'll be missed Smith, good luck to you.  On a side note this is the 4th back up QB the Niner's have sent to Start over in Kansas City: Montana, Bono, Elvis, Now SMith. How has that worked out?

Make a Life Go BOOM!

When it all clicked
A quick post will suffice today and it is one that makes sense. The last year or so I have been searching for my meaning on this planet. For most I know, this has already happened and careers have been started. Guess you can say I am a late bloomer because it hasn't all came together for me that easily but the moment seems to be the moment right now. When I was younger I wanted to be a basketball player, that faded out in high school. Lost and confused because I was not gifted with the capabilities of Michael Jordan, I ran a muck through my early college years by acting a fool. Today I have had some clarity on what I will do with me life, but it has come to me several times in different forms. Those forms have come in self medicated trances of mental clarity that have always pointed to one thing, comedy or the word comic. Yes I will be finishing school trained in illustration but comedy seems to find it's way to me more often than not.
Some sort of comedy will be my way out, that I know but what form. I have done a bit of stand up and writing jokes seems fun, however the idea of reciting them is just not for me. I wish it was, but it is not. I put too much into the joke and can go over the top, plus it doesn't seem fluent. Maybe I sound hard on myself but I always found myself more of a situational funny opposed to a pre-funny person. I am in most aspects a lazy man when it comes to the 9-5 work community, I just don't believe in that sort of life. Not for me and that is fine. Yet it gets me wondering what do I want to do, what is going to ultimately pay my bills and then it clicked. I will just be a funny man and see where that takes me. I can act in any sort of way to anyone whenever need be without batting an eye and pull it off as sincere. Sounds horrible but that is my gift. I don't use this to enforce negativity  I am a baron of the light. I have the talent to come up with stories of great depth real or not real while living a life where situations happen that to others would seem fiction. COMIC.....
Then I watched an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with special guest Alec Baldwin and boom, it all clicked! Really it was always in front of me.  I can be a funny man, not have to write my own stuff and when I do, it will be at my own terms. The way Alec Baldwin is funny, I like, the way Larry David just improvs is genius. Who needs structure and rules when the purest art is spontaneous. I'm not comparing myself to these brilliant men, no, not at all. I simply am admiring the art they have perfected and am striving to fit in a spot of that universe. Today with the internet and social media, traditional ways to get yourself out their is a thing of the past. Yes hard work does need to occur but the ability to make it happen lies in your hands more than any other time. That's all really, thought I would get that out of me as it makes me feel better. Today I will be seeing Hannibal Burress at DePaul to learn something from a very funny person and best of all he is from Chicago. I know I want to make comics or a form of that art. I know I want to do comedy. So I'm just going to continue to do both.

OPEN HOUSE

Hello World and Canada!

Posted | Views: 993
Welcome to my blog everyone! Before I start posting on this incredible site by ownzee.com, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Smart Alic Presents, yes that is what I go by and I have business papers to prove it, haha! This site will soon be oozing with shorts, my very first zine stories, articles, pictures, illustrations and videos. I'm a huge fan of the arts and soon will be taking myself back to finish school in San Francisco for Illustration. Hopefully this site will open up some doors and display a portfolio for all of you to enjoy.
A little about about myself first, then I'll let the site do the rest for me. I'm 25, currently living in Chicago. I'm Vegan and have a dog named Nomar aka Nomes. I'm a huge San Francisco 49ers fan, love the Chicago Bulls and recently due to my brother, started watching the Blackhawks.
Favorite television is of course Seinfeld, Curb, Archer, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Real Husbands of Hollywood. Love Wes Anderson movies, all the new Batman's along with Michael Keaton's two are great and Adam West is the Godfather of the cowl. I enjoy walks, biking and doodles. My favorite comic book out is Image's Chew and favorite animal is the Brown Pelican. Stand up comedians are the true geniuses on this planet and for that I am a follower.
I'm a strong believer of taking care of the planet and leaving it a better place for the next generation. I never have been afraid to fail and sometimes I wear an eye patch when I write because I like my words to come from a bad-ass perspective. I'm not perfect and have made mistakes but I have a lifetime to fix that. I'm on my way to righting my wrongs metaphorically and figuratively. Other than that, I drink way too much caffeine and am looking to live a very Seinfeld life. Enjoy the site and share! Follow me on twitter @sapresents

Suffering

Posted | Views: 2,031
Suffering is a treasure, for it conceals mercies;
The almond becomes fresh when you peel off the rind.
O my brother, staying in a cold dark place
And bearing patiently the grief, weakness, and pain
Is the Source of Life and the cup of Abandon!
The heights are found only in the depths of abasement;
Spring is hidden in autumn, and autumn pregnant with spring.
Flee neither; be the friend of Grief, accept desolation,
Hunt for the life that springs from the death of yourself.- Jalal-ud-Din Rumi
