Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant has clarified to Billboard a comment his client made during a live performance on Saturday (June 13) about signing a "deal" with Jay Z. At the KMEL Summer Jam in Oakland, California Lil Wayne announced to screaming fans that "I just signed a deal with my motherf--king idol Jay Z." these words were assumed to be as though he was announcing a new deal to Roc Nation as a new artist. "The Internet and blogs took his words out of context," Bryant tells Billboard. "When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an artist owner with Tidal’’ Wayne’s manager and longtime friend Cortez Bryant made public to reporters at Billboard to clarify the rumors. For years the portrayal of African American victims within the systems of American media have been skeptical and seemingly unfair. And if you thought that the news called them thugs or hoodlums think again the reports stated that young emotional students were upset about their home team’s loss and that they were passionate about their college as if they had not committed any illegal crimes. How can we preach justice and equality in a country where black and white is not right and wrong but just that ‘’black and white’’ and unfair treatment is seemingly moral. In the black community citizens all over America feel less than the rightful citizens they truly are from the harassment of city officers to the pictures painted to the public eyes view. For years race has been a primary issue in America that some make efforts to try to sweep under the rug a problem that will never be abolished. If equality was practiced and made its way across the nation imagine the changes we would see, the lives that would be saved and the issues finally resolved.
