THE WEEKEND THE GIRLS TOOK MELBOURNE
SO THIS WEEKEND MYSELF AND 5 FRIENDS FLEW, ADULTLESS, TO MELBOURNE TO ESCAPE SCHOOL LIFE AND HAVE A FUN GETAWAY! WE COULDN'T GET UP TO TOO MUCH TROUBLE SINCE WE ARE ALL 16 BUT IT WAS STILL SO MUCH FUN! WE DID LOTS OF SHOPPING AND VISITED A LES MIS EXHIBITION ASWELL AS THE ART GALLERY (JUST TO STAY CULTURED YOU KNOW)! THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG POST SO APOLOGIES!!
PRE-DEPARTURE DINNER WAS CARROT AND QUINOA SALAD
Had to grab something quick to eat in the airport before take off as it wasn't until 9 when we got to our hotel! This was delicious but not sure it was worth the $7 it cost me!
DINNER NIGHT 0
Arrived at the hotel and went to pizzeria down the road (the waiter was so hot)!! We got margarita, ham and cheese and garlic bread type pizza. It was all delicious and wood fired mmmmmm. I wasn't that hungry after my salad but this pizza was hard to resist!
BREAKFAST DAY 1
toasted muesli, poached peared and natural yoghurt!
I tried to go for the healthiest thing on the menu but after ordering I realised it probably wasn't as toasted muesli is often covered in sugar! Despite this I ate most of it up as it was delicious! Breakfast was followed by a day of shopping which was exhausting as we walked from one side of the city to the other and back twice!

LUNCH DAY 1
A light lunch at the cutest sushi bar - I got a vego and an avocado & cucumber! I got pushed in front of to get this sushi by a rude woman and her son who wanted the poor man who barely spoke english to pull the cucumber out of the flipping teriyaki sushi! ... anyways this sushi was delicious and didn't cost much at all which was fabulous since I had just bought a $100 jacket and blown most of my money in one hit!
We went to the Nike outlet and I fell in love with these runners! I didn't have enough money for them but they have gone straight onto my christmas wishlist!
Snack was a freshly squeezed tropical juice from this health food store - it hit the spot mmmmm felt energised for the afternoon of shopping that awaited!!
SHOPPING...
The make up section in the Myer on Bourke Street is amazing!!! There was so many different brands you can't find in Adelaide! I bought my sister a few things from Soap & Glory that she has wanted for a while and also got my make up done at Clinique for free!! My friend wanted to try an eyeliner out at Calvin Klein and ended up getting her eyes fully done and eyebrows filled in.... It did not look natural ahaha! The foundation I got done was clinique blemish prone skin foundation and it felt so good on my skin and it didn't feel heavy or like it was going to clog up my pores! I usually hate having my makeup done but this time I didn't mind... too bad I had no where special to go wearing it!
DINNER DAY 1
Three out of six of the girls went to see Les Mis so the other three of us wandered down China Town and decided a Chinese restaurant was probably all we were going to find for dinner! I had these springrolls and some funky looking and funky tasting eggplant curry so I ended up eating a lot of plain rice! The spring rolls were quite yummy though!
After wandering the streets of Melbourne in the freezing cold for half an hour we realised no where was open so we headed into target where the was free wifi and comfy chairs! We
sat in target for a good hour until it had to close so we wandered back to the theatre to meet the girls who saw Les Miserables.

Last food item of DAY 1 was NITRO LAB it didn't taste too fancy but how they made it was cool! For the coconut one which I got they put coconut milk and liquid nitrogen into a kitchen aid and magically it became ice-cream!!
By the time we got back to the hotel at 11:30 we decided the "night was still young" so we hit the streets around our hotel trying to find somewhere to go! It was so much fun just roaming the streets of an unknown city with no adults! We didn't last long since everything was shut but it was fun whilst it lasted!
BREAKFAST DAY 2 - BIRCHER MUESLI + MANGO JUICE
This bircher muesli was delicious and filling and with this freshly juiced mango juice set me up wonderfully for the day! A bonus to this breakfast was that one of the guys working there was so hot aha! They sold almond croissants and nutella croissants OMG they looked like heaven! I wanted to come back later and get some for my family but by the time we came back they were all sold so I settled for buying my sister a couple of nutella macaroons and my mum and dad a french custard tart to share.
An early light lunch type thing was some sweet potato fries from a completely vegan fry boutique on a side street! They were delicious and hit the spot but left enough room for the late lunch of bruschetta that was to come! This bruschetta was amazing and light but was also really filling since this was a late lunch/ dinner since our flight was around dinner time so we couldn't eat then. In the airport I bought a $5 cup of tea since I hadn't had a tea all weekend and it got taken off me since we got called onto the plane!! At least my bad didn't get taken off me like Claudia's since we were only allowed carry on and her bags were "too big" for carry on even though mine were bigger... you win some you lose some!
And that was my weekend away in Melbourne with the girls! It was so much fun and we are thinking about doing the same once we have finished school maybe to Sydney or the Goldcoast!
