New Quarter

Posted by Humby Views: 1,516
NEW

About a month ago I was handed back my change. I barely noticed that one quarter looked newer. I wasn't sure if it was new as in shinny new or new as in different.

About an hour went by and it popped back into my head. 'What did this guy hand me!?' I checked my pocket, hmm, yeah, and its also has a 2023 year on it.

Interestingly the new quarter has Washington's face facing the opposite direction...

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Information and emotion in great photography

Posted by Humby Views: 2,421
I found this very interesting video on YouTube. How much emotion or information does an image carry?

I know for me most of my photos cointain more information than emotion. The emotion in my photos is the emotion of joy when I shoot them and the emotion of frusstration when I develop and scan them haha!

Nicola's video has inspired me to add emotion to the photos I capture. Check out his video.

TRON on Film at Night

TRON Lightcycle Run at Night
This is a new ride in the Magic Kingdom. I saw it earlier before it was open and it was also during the day time.

At night it looks much cooler, although I'm not crazy about the LED blue color. It would be better as a neon argon blue.

As the coaster passes by, hexagon-shaped lights turn on the surface. It's cool to watch.

Made perfect in weakness

Posted by Humby Views: 1,471
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The 40mm 2.8G DX is an amazing lens. Its a shame its DX and not Full Frame. But, it can be used on a Full Frame camera with alot of lens vignetting. Color on the film photo has more contrast and more saturation. I left the digital Raw file as is, looks a bit dull but I like it.

Yuck! Expired Kodak MAX 400.

30ish Year Old Expired Kodak MAX 400
I'm not a fan of expired film or the look it gives but my Mom found an old Kodak MAX 400 roll in a box somewhere. I wasn't sure if it had photos on it but the film leader was out. I decided to try and develop a couple frames to see. No photos, the roll was unused!

I then went to the most 1990's place I could think of... Town & Country Mall and took some shots.
Is Kodak MAX 400 just Kodak UltraMax 400? I'm not sure. It just had MAX in big bold letters on the cassette.
